Andrew Lara

Lead Strategist & Student Coach

Andrew is a second-year medical student at McGovern Medical School and leads schedule creation and curriculum strategy. As a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and member of McGovern’s Lifestyle Medicine Scholarly Concentration, he brings a human-centered approach to academic coaching.

At UT Austin, Andrew taught genetics and mentored pre-med students while working full-time in restaurants. He later studied abroad in Madrid as a Gilman Scholar, building the cultural and language fluency that continues to shape his work today.

Outside of Papillon, he loves to cook, write, and compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Andrew’s goal is consistent across every space, to help students excel and learn more about themselves along the way.

You don’t have to be perfect! Focus on your process and celebrate the little things.

Lauren Robinson

Curriculum Design & Instruction

Lauren is a second-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine. She studied biology and religious studies at UT Austin, where she also spent four years teaching genetics, tutoring the MCAT, and writing textbook questions. She is a top scorer (100th percentile) in both Biology/Biochem and Psych/Soc on the MCAT.

With six years of instructional experience and a background in mentoring, Lauren brings warmth, rigor, and real-world wisdom to every student she supports. She helped found Papillon to prove that MCAT success is possible for students from all kinds of paths. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys knitting, thriller movies, and listening to people’s stories.

Find a way to love it. Let yourself nerd out about the material and you will start to see the change in your learning and retention of the information.

Aaron Barcio

Chemistry / Physics & Strategy Coach

Aaron is a chemical engineering graduate from UT Austin and a top scorer (100th percentile) in both Chem/Phys and Psych/Soc on the MCAT. After being one of Papillon’s first students, he joined the team to help others succeed through smart systems and efficient prep.

As a biochemistry TA, Aaron specialized in breaking down tough content into clear, digestible steps. At Papillon, he supports students through strategy sessions, practice review, and physics problem-solving. Outside the academic world, he plays ultimate frisbee professionally and volunteers with Camp Kesem.

Learn the content the MCAT likes to question about! It’ll save you time when reading the passages and teaches you what to prioritize.

Lily Boddy

Biology & Biochem Specialist

Lily is a biology major at UT Austin with experience across clinical and research settings, including innovative work in health AI and medical assistance. She knows firsthand how overwhelming MCAT prep can feel, and brings that empathy into every session.

At Papillon, she helps students build confidence in bio/biochem by connecting big-picture concepts with test-taking strategy. She believes tutoring should be personalized, encouraging, and human. In her free time, Lily loves hiking, relaxing with friends, and hanging out with her Labrador, Oliver.

Don’t underestimate the power of breaks, routine, and review. It’s a marathon, not a sprint—consistency and reflection are key!

Sallianne

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Coach

Sallianne is a second-year medical student at McGovern Medical School in the Texas Medical Center with a passion for helping students feel empowered, confident, and capable as they take on the challenge of the MCAT - especially the CARS section. She knows from experience that mastering CARS is not about tricks or shortcuts, but growing as a critical thinker, reader, and learner.

She brings her background and interest in lifestyle medicine and pediatrics into her tutoring approach, encouraging students to care for their whole selves - mind, body, and spirit - throughout the MCAT journey. She believes that prioritizing wellness is the foundation not just for test success, but for a fulfilling life and career in the future.

Outside of tutoring and medical school, Sallianne competes in triathlons, is a lover of Houston's parks, and a nutrition enthusiast. She loves connecting with students on what drives them and mentoring in a way that is holistic, personalized, and encouraging.

Your wellness is your greatest asset while studying for the MCAT - nurture your physical, emotional, and mental health not just to perform well on test day, but to thrive as a lifelong learner and future physician.
